Consultant EMDR Therapist, specialising in trauma, complex PTSD and dissociation.
I am an experienced trauma therapist and supervisor specialising in EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) and the Flash Technique. I also work online with clients via Zoom.
I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an EMDR Europe accredited Consultant. I trained in counselling and psychotherapy at the University of East London and completed my Diploma in 2006.
I offer weekly EMDR sessions as well as intensive EMDR therapy, which can allow us to work through the same amount of traumatic material in a single day that would otherwise take 2–3 months in weekly sessions.
The Flash Technique, developed by EMDR Trainer Phil Manfield, is a quick and safe way of processing disturbing memories without the need to feel these memories as intensely as you do with other approaches like EMDR. I often use Flash and EMDR in my work with clients suffering from complex PTSD.
I work with a strict code of ethics set by the BACP.
I see clients in my private practice in Stoke Newington, London N16 and online via Zoom. Stoke Newington (N16) is close to Dalston E8, Hackney E9, Stamford Hill N15, Finsbury Park N4 and Islington N1.
I work as a Senior Therapist and EMDR Consultant Supervisor for the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service, part of Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.
My previous practice experience includes working at iCope, the Camden and Islington Psychological Therapies Service, the IAPT NHS talking therapies service run by Mind in West Essex, One Therapy London, as a volunteer counsellor for the Terrence Higgins Trust counselling team, and at the Centre for Better Health (formerly the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association).
